Interceptor

Advanced driving:

- Officers must apply their interest through the ES Certification application on the tablet.

- As a team the leads and instructors will keep an eye on any officer who has expressed interest, they will look out for driving ability, but more driving etiquette, coms, and understanding of pursuit SOP's.

- If instructors believe that an officer is suitable to getting the certification they must inform the leads.

- Leads may issue the cert to whomever they see fit for the certification.

- If we have someone who is interested but we don't believe they are ready for the cert, we must try our best to offer the officer tips and guide them to becoming better.

Interceptors:

- Officers must have the advanced driving certification, and apply their interest for the interceptor cert in the tablet.

- Again as a team the leads and instructors must keep an eye on the list of people interested and have good communication on the progress of the training.

- First stage of training will be mock pursuits, you was take out whoever you are training in the same car, for example Growler v Growler, they will chase you whilst giving coms, they will get unlimited VCB's and only one UTL in a ten minute pursuit. In this pursuit we will be looking for them to be giving good and clear coms, call out land marks, giving intercept points, spike points and frequent routes. We are looking for very high quality when it comes to the coms.

- If you as the officers instructor are happy with the mock pursuits you may move them along to the ride along/live pursuit stage.

- Ride along/Live pursuit stage will need a good amount of team work from the whole team, as we will be going out with them as a passenger in an interceptor for live pursuits and patrolling, trying to get the officer under review into as many situations as we can to see their ability in high pressure chases.

- If we believe that an officer reaches all required needs to be an interceptor driver, like skill, coms and everything else in one, then they will be granted the certification.

Expectations from the team:

- Good communication in the team chat when it comes to ongoing training.

- Help people improve, don't just ignore them or tell them they have no chance.

- Make sure all SOP's are followed for the interceptor certifications during the ride along/live pursuit stage.
